We’re happy to see that Nonprofit World Wide Web has posted our story about CalendarLink as a “healthy” alternative to fundraising. (Successful Fund Raising Doesn't Need to Fatten Our Kids, http://bit.ly/b8o68C)
Here’s the bottom line: with about a third of American kids considered overweight or obese, does it make sense to ask them to sell candy bars, cookie dough and kettlecorn as a way to support their schools or sports teams? Why would we do that if there’s an easier way to raise money that doesn’t involve selling or handling junk food?
If your child’s school, troop or sports team wants to get out of the junk food sales business, we can help.
Occasional musings from John Conover about some of the people, processes, pains and pleasures of starting a new business.
About:
Hi, I’m John Conover, a longtime So Cal surfer and creator/owner of Tidelines calendars. As I approach the 30th anniversary of Tidelines, I’m starting a new venture called CalendarLink.org, a free fund-raising tool for non-profit groups and charitable organizations.
